Working as a UI-UX designer contributing to the augmented reality creation tools, websites, app and software application. Their aim, to turn almost anything into an interactive media through augmented reality and provide a platform for anyone to create their own AR experiences.

Zapcode creator & and in-house tool Zappar Studio

Shaping ZapWorks.
With a desire to expand on their library of AR creation tools, it was intended to release their advanced Studio platform (used exclusively in-house) and make it commercially available to customers. It was also believed necessary to rebrand / refresh the overall proposition and change Zapcode Creator to the name Zapworks.

IDENTITY VISUAL EXERCISE
After much collaboration with the founders on how they envisioned the proposition, the task was then to look at how to position its tools through its visual identity. A rebrand of the existing logo also had to be explored, along with branding of the web tool, websites and software application.

Review
Conducting a UX review of the existing websites to list possible design solutions and quick wins that could increase engagement, click-throughs to the site and convert users e.g. showcasing awards, user engagement, app store linking, and exposure on the tools that were used to show customers what they could hope to create.

Studio
There were instances to look at the existing software application’s UI elements, design new functionalities and suggest improvements to components and behaviours in preparation from in-house use to commercial use.
Applying small visual cues in certain areas helped create a better relationship between the online tool and software application. This make Studio feel a part of the family but also separated it in a way that it felt like a premium experience.

New site design
Once the desired identity had been chosen we then looked at creating wires for new ZapWorks site. Using the existing creator site as a base, small beneficial alterations were made to some the arrangement.
Once the wireframes were signed off, I then started injecting the new style onto every page of the site in desktop and mobile.

Build
Working closely with the developer in creating dev ready specifications, CSS stylesheet, defining grids, layouts, interaction models and behaviour. Providing a comprehensive collection of customisable and extendable UI components to better construct and manage those webpages.
