Working on the Zappar site.

The day to day tasks consisted of making additions or alterations to the central website that showcased the best and biggest AR campaigns done for major brands. This included building various landing pages, presentation of portfolio, increasing dwell time and page engagement and optimising build time on campaigns and news.

Improvements to AR app

Opportunities did arise to look at the app’s UI patterns, making small alterations, defining visual identity for app deep-linking and investigating up-to-date trends such as material design to rollout for android users.

03

BRAND REFRESH

With the platform going through a rebrand/refresh, there was an opportunity to look at the site’s current visual identity on desktop and mobile. I reviewed and looked at ways at optimising and incorporating better web practices as well as improving the look and feel.

Keeping the colour scheme more or less the same, the aim was more vibrancy, bolder colours, and a more playful tone. Icons, fonts and other brand elements were taken from other digital and print works to further unify the overall identity.

04

TRENDS

Constantly looking at competitors and latest web trends to see if we could adopt more modern web techniques to be used sparingly across our site e.g. parallaxing, HTML 5 animation and PNG sequencing.

Although a tad gimmicky, but if employed in the right way, would give the website more depth and bring home the slogan at the time: “bringing things to life”.

Rolling out

An expanded library of UI components / widgets had been created with the idea that they’d be able to be re-used/re-purposed, making it an easier task to design and build not just for the central site, but all their websites.

I always looked at what the redesign should look like, going for more optimised layouts and aesthetically pleasing visuals.
